Inside a Real Toronto Deep Clean, From Dusty to Spotless in One Visit
This was a three-bedroom semi near Coxwell that had not had a full deep clean in about two years. Two cleaners, one visit, about five hours on site. Here is the order we worked in and why.

Why order matters more than speed
A deep clean goes top-down and dry-to-wet. Dust falls, so ceilings, vents, light fixtures and blinds come first. Floors are last, always. Skipping that order means vacuuming twice and still finding grit along the baseboards.
We also work room-to-room instead of task-to-task on deep cleans. It keeps the checklist honest: a room is either finished and signed off, or it is not.
The kitchen took the longest
Range hood filters, the sides of the stove, the gap behind it, cabinet fronts above the cooktop. Airborne grease settles on every horizontal surface in a kitchen, and it needs dwell time with a degreaser rather than more scrubbing.
- Hood filter soaked while the rest of the kitchen was cleaned
- Stove pulled forward, floor and wall behind it degreased
- Inside microwave and oven, cabinet fronts wiped top to bottom
- Sink, faucet and drain descaled, then polished dry
Bathrooms: grout, glass, then hardware
Grout gets a dedicated brush and a non-acidic cleaner so the colour comes back without eating the seal. Shower glass gets a hard-water treatment and a squeegee finish. Chrome is polished dry at the end, because water spots are what people notice first.
The parts that made the biggest visual difference
Blinds, baseboards and switch plates. None of them are dramatic on their own, but together they are the difference between a room that looks tidy and a room that looks clean.
- Every baseboard hand-wiped, not vacuumed
- Blinds cleaned slat by slat
- Light switches, door handles and frames sanitized
- Interior window glass and sills
What a deep clean does not fix
Permanent staining, worn finish and damaged grout do not come back with cleaning. We flag those on the walkthrough instead of pretending a second pass will change them. Everything else on the checklist gets signed off before we leave.
